What we do

At TWD Energy, we leverage human ingenuity and cutting-edge technology to develop and implement scalable solutions that deliver low-carbon, sustainable liquefied natural gas (LNG) and natural gas products. Our commitment is to meet both local energy needs and facilitate global export opportunities, ensuring that our solutions contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.

Our approach

Commercially bankable low carbon energy

As global demand for sustainable energy sources increases, LNG projects gain further commercial appeal by meeting international energy transition goals and environmental regulations. With meticulous planning, robust commercial and financial structuring, and a growing market for clean energy, the Bayelsa LNG project offers significant potential for substantial economic returns and enhanced energy security.

The Bayelsa LNG project offers a highly attractive investment opportunity through its stable revenue model, reduced risk profile, advanced technologies, and alignment with strong market demand for cleaner energy, underpinned by many more compelling factors:

Stable Revenue Streams: The Bayelsa LNG project will feature long-term, fixed-price contracts with reputable, creditworthy buyers, ensuring reliable and predictable revenue. These agreements help mitigate market volatility and secure steady cash flow.

Robust Market Demand: With the global shift towards cleaner energy sources, LNG is increasingly in demand. The Bayelsa LNG project aligns with this trend, positioning itself as a key player in the transition to a low-carbon future.

Strategic Location: Located in Nigeria’s LNG-rich region, the Bayelsa LNG project benefits from proximity to major international shipping routes and established infrastructure. Our strategic location enhances access to global and European markets while optimizing logistical efficiency.

Advanced Technology and Efficiency: Partnered with top tier natural gas technology manufacturers, the Bayelsa LNG project incorporates state-of-the-art technology in LNG production, processing, and transportation. These advancements ensure high operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reduced environmental impact.

Government Support and Regulations: The Nigerian government is providing robust support for the Bayelsa LNG project, including favorable policies, tax incentives, and subsidies. This supportive regulatory environment enhances the project’s financial attractiveness and operational viability.

Comprehensive Risk Mitigation: The project will be backed by thorough risk management strategies, including insurance coverage, financial hedging, and detailed project planning. These measures address potential operational and financial risks, ensuring investor confidence.

Economic and Developmental Impact: The Bayelsa LNG project promises significant economic benefits, including job creation, infrastructure development, and contributions to local economic growth. It aligns with Nigeria’s broader economic goals and supports regional development.

Environmental and Sustainability Credentials: Committed to environmental stewardship, the Bayelsa LNG project adheres to stringent international environmental standards. The project focuses on minimizing its carbon footprint and implementing sustainable practices throughout its operations.

Strong Financial Structuring: Detailed financial projections for the Bayelsa LNG project demonstrate its potential for substantial returns on investment. Sensitivity analyses further illustrate the project’s resilience to market fluctuations and financial uncertainties.

Proven Track Record: Investors can look to the financial success and proven track record of a similar LNG business venture located approximately 100 miles from the Bayelsa LNG location. Other LNG businesses provide a solid foundation for expected performance and financial outcomes.

Did you know...?

  • Nigeria has over 160 flare sites and TWD Energy will capture flare gas from 50 of these sites as feed gas for CNG and LNG.
  • Our large scale facility will be capable of processing over 50+ Million SCF of flare gas and will be equipped with 4 liquefaction trains that will produce 6 Mtpa of LNG.
  • In February of 2024, President Tinubu signed three Executive Orders as part of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s  commitment to improve the investment climate and position Nigeria as the preferred investment destination for the oil and gas sector in Africa.

Converting wasted resources to useful energy

We deliver reliable, high-quality energy to support a range of industries, from manufacturing to power generation. Leveraging advanced technologies, our LNG meets international standards for quality and efficiency. By using flare gas as feedstock and upholding a commitment to environmental stewardship, we ensure sustainable operations that prioritize the well-being of our planet.

The Molecules

LNG

Liquefied Natural Gas

The Molecules

LPG

Liquefied Petroleum Gas

LPG is a fuel consisting of a mixture of hydrocarbon gases, primarily propane and butane. It accounts for approximately 3% of global energy consumption and burns relatively cleanly, producing minimal soot and sulfur emissions. LPG is extracted from “wet” natural gas, which contains condensable heavy petroleum compounds, through an absorption process. It is used for heating, cooking, auto fuel and as an aerosol propellant and a refrigerant.

The Molecules

NGLs

Natural Gas Liquids

NGLs are heavy hydrocarbon compounds with higher dew points than dry natural gases like methane and ethane. They are in the same molecular family as crude oil, but chemically simpler to extract and use. NGLs fall out of the gas stream due to decreased temperatures, increased pressure, or the scrubbing action within the pipeline. NGLs are used in blending motor fuels and producing raw materials for a wide range of products, including tires, clothing, and plastic goods.

The Molecules

CNG

Compressed Natural Gas

CNG is an alternative to gasoline and diesel fuels, and consists primarily of methane. It is produced by compressing natural gas to a high pressure, then typically stored and distributed in cylindrical or spherical containers at 20–25 megapascals (3,600 pounds per square inch). CNG is utilized as a fuel for motor vehicles and locomotives, offering a cleaner and more efficient option compared to traditional fossil fuels.

Gas Processing Plant

Gas Processing Plant

Natural gas processing involves a series of industrial steps designed to purify raw gas by removing contaminants such as solids, water, carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), mercury, and higher molecular mass hydrocarbons (condensates). This purification process results in pipeline-quality dry natural gas suitable for distribution and final use.

LNG plays a vital role as a stepping stone in green energy by offering a cleaner, more efficient alternative to traditional fossil fuels, supporting the transition to renewable energy, and driving technological innovation and economic growth.

Taking action against flaring
for a net zero future

At TWD Energy, we partner with oil companies in the Niger Delta to address the issues of gas flaring, waste, and pollution. Our solutions enable these companies to capture and monetize stranded natural gas assets, transforming them into valuable energy products. This approach not only helps reduce environmental impact and waste but also delivers significant benefits to the community and customers, who gain from the availability of cleaner and more sustainable natural gas products. It’s a win-win situation for all parties involved, fostering environmental responsibility while enhancing economic opportunities.

Shaping Africa's Energy Future

The development of Nigeria’s LNG infrastructure creates job opportunities, stimulates local economies, and attracts foreign investment. It also helps the country diversify its economy by reducing its reliance on oil alone and tapping into the global LNG market.
